The Role
What you would carry
The Preschool Director builds and leads Discovery Church's new preschool with Christ at the center: hiring and shepherding teachers, keeping every child safe, partnering with families, and shaping a program aimed at accreditation standards from day one.
- Hire, train, schedule, and coach the preschool lead teachers and aides, and build a healthy staff culture.
- Keep children safe and well cared for: child-to-staff ratios, check-in and check-out, emergency drills, and state licensing requirements.
- Oversee classroom quality, from age-appropriate curriculum and routines to clean, engaging rooms.
- Be the primary contact for families: tours, admissions questions, orientation, parent-teacher conferences, and the hard conversations.
- Run the administration behind the program: enrollment, attendance, staff and student files, background checks, and incident reports.
- Provide spiritual leadership for staff, children, and families, and lead the staff devotionals.
- Hold or be working toward Florida's Early Education Director certification (the preschool is still being built and licensed, so there is time), plus current infant/child CPR and first aid.
