Prayer.

Life can be tough, but you don't have to go through it alone. Whatever you're facing, the first step past whatever is holding you back is usually a conversation: with God, and with someone who will pray with you. Tell us what's going on, and our team will pray for you this week.

Hands raised across the room in prayer during a Discovery Church worship gathering.

WHY WE PRAY

Prayer is not preparation for ministry. Prayer is ministry.

It's easy to treat prayer like a warm-up, the thing we get through before the real work starts. At Discovery we believe the opposite. Prayer is the work. A healthy church isn't built on talent; it's built on spiritual formation, on ordinary people learning to talk with God and to listen to Him.

And we didn't come up with it ourselves. When his disciples wanted to learn to pray, Jesus gave them words to begin with.

Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:9-13 CSB

You don't have to carry it alone.

Life gets heavy, and reaching out to talk to someone is usually the hardest part. Every Sunday, trained volunteers are ready to talk and pray with people about whatever is going on in their life. No appointment, no polished words needed. Just find them after the worship gathering.

And for the seasons that need more than a Sunday conversation, our pastors would love to meet with you during the week.
