Don't Join the Club

In Don’t Join the Club (Exodus 15–18), we journey with the Israelites as they leave 430 years of slavery behind. Freedom should lead to praise, but within just three days they’re complaining about food and water. Despite their constant whining, God continues to provide, protect, and guide them. This series challenges us not to join the “Club of Whiners,” but to recognize the God who provides streams in deserts, bread in hunger, victory in battles, and wisdom in confusion. After miraculous deliverance through the Red Sea, the Israelites face bitter water at Marah. Their first instinct is to complain, but God reveals Himself as their Healer (Yahweh Rapha). This sermon will teach us that bitterness and testing are opportunities to deepen trust, not reasons to join the complaining club.
