NEXT STEPS

Everyone has a next step.

Philippians 3:13–14

No matter who you are or where you've been, you have a next step. At Discovery, the shape of a life with Jesus is three movements: Discover. Develop. Deploy. The doors are different. The arc is the same. Whoever you are, we want to help you take the one in front of you.

THE ARC

Discover. Develop. Deploy.

This is the arc of a life at Discovery. Not a program, not a track. The shape of what God has been doing in His people for two thousand years, given three words so we can talk about it together. Every page on this site, every Sunday, every coffee on a Tuesday afternoon, is somewhere on this line.

  1. 01Discover.

Meeting Jesus, for the first time or all over again.

We want to create environments where people can discover an eternal relationship with Jesus and lasting relationships with believers.

  2. 02Develop.

Becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus.

We want to develop one's God-given gifts and passions so that they too can help advance the mission of leading people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus.

  3. 03Deploy.

Being sent to serve, lead, and plant.

We want to deploy people, fully devoted, into their homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, cities, and the rest of the world to share the good news with all people.

CHOOSE YOUR STEP

Pick the one that matches where you stand.

There is no right one. There is only the next one. Be honest about where you actually are, not where you think you should be, and pick the door that matches it. If none of them fit, the bottom of the page has two more.

    Come to Next Move.

New to Discovery? Join Pastor Zach on the fourth Sunday of each month, right after both worship gatherings, for a 10-minute conversation about who we are, where we are going, and how to get involved.

  • A baptism moment at Discovery Church, hands meeting in the water.

    DEVELOP · 01

    Get baptized.

Baptism declares to the world that you've trusted Jesus, joined God's family, and committed to follow Him. If you have never been baptized after salvation, this is your first step.

  • A Discovery Group gathered around a kitchen table with open Bibles and coffee mugs.

    DEVELOP · 02

    Join a Discovery Group.

Groups are where Godly friends become spiritual family. Faith gets stirred, assumptions get challenged, sisters are found, and brothers build each other up. We were created for community.

  • Pastor Tim O'Carroll teaching at a Partnership Lunch.

    DEVELOP · 03

    Become a Partner.

Partnership is our form of membership. It's for anyone ready to take their next step and officially join the Discovery family. Pastor Tim hosts a lunch where you'll hear what we believe and what God wants for you.

  • Discovery Church volunteers serving on a Sunday morning team.

    DEPLOY · 04

    Serve on a team.

Arriving early to set the table. Unloading the dishwasher without asking. Being called aunt or uncle when you're not related. These are a few of the ways you know you're no longer a guest, you're family.

FOR FAMILIES

Kids have next steps, too.

Next steps look different at seven, fourteen, and twenty-two. The Younger Generation is one of our four values, and we take it that seriously. Every Sunday, three rooms are open for the people God is raising up, with teachers, leaders, and friends who will love your kid the way we wish we'd been loved at their age.

STILL DECIDING?

Would you let us help you find it?

Not every next step is obvious from a list. Sometimes you need to be in the room. Sometimes you need a pastor across the table. Either is fine. Either is enough. Would you let us help you find yours?

Everyone has a next step. Every next step is a step toward Jesus. Every step toward Jesus is a step into the family.
